COVID-19

The Community Centre reopened on 3rd August after this long period of lock-down. We have of course been strictly operating within Government Guidelines. We are also being guided by ACRE and GRCC. Our preparations to make the halls Covid Secure have been thoroughly 'road tested' by the users who have already returned. An updated version of the guidelines were issued on 21st July and certain user group restrictions have been lifted.

Whilst you have been away, and despite the lack of income from bookings, our Caretaker, Mark has been working hard to ensure you return to a brighter environment in all the halls. The Parish Rooms has had a major ‘make-over’ – the entrance lobby, the toilets, the kitchen and the main hall have been completely redecorated and are looking fantastic. The Gambier Parry Hall has had the lower level paintwork refreshed. The Old School is currently nearing completion, with a major redecoration taking place.

The updated regulations now allow some previously banned activities to now take place.

So with certain specific conditions (detailed in our Special Covid Terms & Conditions) we can now accept bookings for the previously banned activities

CHILDRENS PARTIES, DRAMA, COMEDY, YOGA, PILATES, DANCING, TABLES TENNIS, INDOOR BOWLS, WEDDING RECEPTIONS

LIMITS ON THE NUMBERS OF ATTENDEES IN EACH HALL REMAIN THE SAME. GAMBIER PARRY HALL – 30 DELEGATE, PARISH ROOMS – 20 DELEGATES, OLD SCHOOL – 10 DELEGATES

Currently on the Government banned list are the following:

BAND PRACTICE (WHICH INCLUDES WIND INSTRUMENTS) & CHOIRS

These criteria are constantly under review and we will notify you when things change.

For the remainder of Users who want to return it will be mandatory for you to accept our Special Terms and Conditions in relation to Covid 19 – which can be viewed here. Whilst at first glance these might seem onerous, in fact mostly it’s just common sense. The halls will be fully prepared to meet with the regulations including sanitising stations, equipment and signage. A copy of our Risk Assessment and also a sample copy of a Risk Assessment you may want to complete for your particular group will be issued with each booking enquiry.

We look forward to working with you under the ‘new normal’
